6for6 winners – Locumate
We know you will join us in congratulating Kavi and Surge from Locumate. Their pitch at our recent 6for6 night impressed our judges and we are thrilled that they will be joining us in the Dynamic Zone of the Jessie Tait Building.
Technovalia is happy to report that the COVALIA study, the first Phase 1 human trial of a COVID-19 gene-based DNA vaccine in Australia, is progressing well. The study evaluates COVIGEN, a COVID-19 needle-free vaccine and three clinical trial sites in NSW, SA and WA are recruiting healthy volunteers aged 18-75 (inclusive).

iBuild Building Solutions have partnered with reusable wallpaper brand, Mirosa .
They have also been chosen to manufacture and ship 11 prefabricated homes from Melbourne to Senegal for a German foreign aid project. The stylish Australian country homes designed by iBuild were so appealing to the German and Senegalese clients, that they placed a large order for them to become bespoke villas tailored to the local West African climate and environment. WRS BioProducts have expanded with new production premises in Springvale. You will still see them in the centre as the Dynamic Zone lab remains key to their ongoing development.
Delorean Group. It’s great to see the Delorean team growing and so are their projects. Welcome to the centre, Sonny and Laurent!
Monash Sustainability team are a joy to have in the centre. They have two new Sustainability Champions. One is litter prevention champion, Trav Finlayson, working to reduce litter and dumping in hotspots across Monash under a framework of education, infrastructure and enforcement. The other is Zero Carbon Champion, Daniel Berry, who works to deliver on the community facing commitments and Zero Net Carbon Action plan. Daniel works with community and business across Monash to reduce municipal-wide greenhouse gas emissions through engagement and programs.
EI is thrilled that they are also developing interpretive signage to highlight the sustainability features of the EI buildings and surrounds. Keep an eye out for this new signage and information.
The team also maintains EI’s two worm farms, which are doing really well and will introduce a third when restrictions ease – taking all the scraps from the EI kitchen and putting them to good use. We love our worms! And thanks team for stickering EI bins to make it easier to use those services.
We congratulate the City of Monash for their launch of a Business Energy Saver program to help businesses access solar and LED changeovers to reduce energy costs. Also coordinating the Sustainability Victoria Small Business Energy Saver program in the Eastern region of Melbourne. Small businesses can get new equipment such as hot water systems and freezers and receive additional bonuses up to $2000 on top of Victorian Energy Upgrade (VEU) credits. It can result in an 85% discount in addition to saving on energy costs.
