Jessie Tait (1852-1916) was a pioneering businesswoman in Mount Waverley in the early 1900s. She is best known as the first entrepreneur to open a shop in Mount Waverley, after securing a licence to sell postal stamps. Her shop, opened in 1905, also sold newspapers, stationery and grocery items and traded until 1944.
