iBuild co-founders Jackson Yin and Michael Zeng moved to Australia in the late 1990s, where they experienced first hand the ever-increasing property prices of the area. Starting out in their garage, the Australian Chinese engineers began their journey into finding a fast and cost-effective solution to providing affordable accommodation and community housing.
In 2014, their research and development led to the creation of iBuild Building Solutions, so that they could start providing products such as granny flats and kit homes with award-winning design in addition to container like homes and modular buildings that can be erected in just a few hours and sustain outstanding living and working conditions in almost any location.
Following on from their success, they are focussed on both community benefit and commercial affordable building.
We asked the iBuild team some questions about their progress in Covid-19 time.
How has COVID-19 affected the business?
iBuild Building Solutions is still considered an essential business by the Government and have made a conscious effort to do our part in flattening the curve. We have seen a notable drop in our Residential market and as such have taken this time to re-evaluate and take active measures to be fully prepared for the bounce-back when trading opportunities return to normal.
What opportunity has Covid-19 isolation given your business?
As an initial action, we advised all non-essential workers to work from home and make great use of our online cloud based project management systems. This has given us the opportunity to further develop our team deliverables and outcomes. Our senior team are able to track the progress of projects and tasks more effectively as relevant information is now fully available and recorded in real time on these cloud based project management systems.
What do you think you will be telling people about 2020 in a decade from now?.
2020 has been a challenging time for all, and we’ve observed companies and people dealing with it differently.
iBuild has been dealing this this situation and environment by taking a step back and pinpointing the qualities that have made iBuild the Stronger, Faster, Smarter and More Affordable solution to housing in today’s market.
In a decade from now, iBuild will be able to outline the story of how we focused on our core pillars and strong foundations to allow us to push through this challenging time and provide our customers with stability.
