Event Overview

The best Founders of Startups (scaling innovation businesses) know they don’t know it all. They rely on the expertise of the people around them, their co-founders, their teams and the advisors they learn from to accelerate their company and succeed.

The best Startups are led by Founders who are relentless in their search for improvement – in themselves and in their companies.

The trouble Founders face when looking for the right advisors is being able to find them right when need them. There’s the hassle knowing what to offer and what contracts need to be signed. Add to that, that taking advice from the wrong advisors can cause delays and it’s no wonder many Startups don’t accelerate faster.

Eastern Innovation (EI) is on a mission to find the right advisors to actively impact the Startups they work with. With the help of Ausindustry’s Incubator Support Grant, the team at EI have been building a GAP – the Global Advisory Program.

The Program

  • Assesses startups to find their gaps,
  • Finds amazing Advisors from all over the world to provide advice that fills those gaps
  • Chairs and manages regular Advisory Board meetings, and
  • Coaches and mentors the Founders and the Advisors to achieve the best results for the Company.

Not all Startup companies are ready for a managed Advisory Board, so the team have created a list of things they can do to get ready to execute their own Advisory Board.

At October’s EVFMU Mark Sims will be presenting this list to you.

Mark is one of the team of four who have built GAP for Eastern Innovation. Mark is based in Hong Kong and has a mission to help businesses ‘do better’ through innovation and technology. He created Asia’s first residential growth oriented corporate accelerator program for startups. Marks extensive and international positioning brings some of the world’s best advisors to GAP.
